WELCOME TO THE FOUNDATION PHASE SPECIALIST TEACHING FACILITY-15/6/22

Important information

Breakfast club is available to all children starting at 8:00am at a cost of £1 a day. School is open at 8:40am, register starts at 8:50am. Fruit for snacks is available to by from school at a cost of 30p. Children can bring fruit to school everyday for snack time. Could all children please wear their PE kit to school every Thursday. Children will be given a reading book with words once the know their letter sounds and are beginning to blend. Children that do not know their letter sounds yet will be given an alphabet sheet so that they can learn their sounds. Please can the children bring in their reading books in every day.

We have enjoyed taking part in circus activities which help improve our gross and fine motor skills.

This week we have enjoyed making jam using blackberries from Brecon and apples from Ystradgynlais.

This week we went in search of different types of houses. How many houses did we see?

Potatoes 3 ways

This week we dug up our potatoes. We made chips, mash and boiled potatoes, we then had to decide our favourite. We made sure we put all the potato waste in our compost bin.

Our visit to St Fagans , we visited the shop and homes from the past.

We also looked at different old fashioned toys.

Week beginning 28/11/22 – 9/12/22

It was lovely to get out this week! We have enjoyed doing the daily mile after a spell of very wet weather. We also got the opportunity to tidy up our veg patch and compost all the dead plants.

We also enjoyed our Christmas jumper and dinner day.

This week we celebrated Chinese new year! We ate Chinese food and made lots of Chinese crafts.

This week we problem solved and built some houses.

Week beginning 6/2/23

This week we created our own countryside and town scape models based on the story of “The town mouse and the country mouse”.

This week we have enjoyed looking at things that we like and love to learn about.

Week beginning 15/1/24

This week we have been busy looking at our outside environment. We waited very patiently for snow but unfortunately it never came! Never mind we made our own. We also looked at suitable clothing for cold weather.

This week has been a cold one! We have been busy creating beautiful winter trees using different media and textures.

We also made Santes Dwynwen cards for our loved ones. X

Week beginning 29/1/24

As the weather has been so cold we have decided to help our feathered friends by making them bird boxes and bird cakes. Hopefully we will see more birds around the school.

Week beginning 5/2/24

This week we have been busy trying healthy fruit. We then took those fruits and designed our very own healthy pancake filling.

Weekend beginning 19/2/24

This week we have been listening to the story of the very hungry caterpillar. In class we have made caterpillar fruit kebabs , symmetrical butterflies and potato print caterpillars.

This week we went on a nature walk. we also had the opportunity to pick some blackberries.

This week we used our blackberries to make some crumble.
