Dosbarth Miss Rowe

Welcome to Dosbarth Melyn.

Teacher: Miss D Rowe

Classroom Assistant: Miss Sharon

The School Day

The children’s school day will be as follows: –

Doors open – 8:40am

School starts – 8:50am

Breaktime – 10:40am – 11am

Lunchtime – 12:15pm – 1:15pm

School finishes – 3:15pm

(Breakfast operates Monday – Friday at 8am to 8:30am and costs £1 a day)

Spelling/X Tables

Your child will have a set of spelling words sent home on SpellBlast every Friday. They will need to use SpellBlast to learn these spellings throughout the week ready for their language lesson on a Friday morning. We always recommend that your child spends a little time every day learning their spellings rather than ‘cramming’ on a Thursday evening. If you are unsure or would like to know more about this system please feel free to ask and I will be happy to explain it to you.

Your child will learn their X tables through TTRockstars. Each child will have their own account that they can access at home. Every Friday I will inform parents/carers which times table we will be focusing on in the following week so that the children can practice their times tables on the weekend.

PE/Games/Swimming

Your child will be having PE/Games once a week. They will need to wear appropriate PE clothing and trainers, and all jewellery will need to be removed. Swimming will take place in a half termly block.

As all children are individuals, some will settle very quickly in their new surroundings in Dosbarth Melyn and others will take a little longer. Should your son/daughter experience any problems, or if you have any concerns about them, however small, please don’t hesitate to make an appointment to speak to either myself, Mrs Hickey or Mrs Havard, our ALNCo. By working together as a team, I am sure we can solve any issues that may arise at any time throughout the year and make your child’s experience a productive and pleasurable one.
